URL CHANGE!!!

February 27, 2007

Please note that from now on, I will no longer be updating this page. I have exported all the data from this page to the new site, N-Holics. I did this because it was brought to my attention that the previous URL was far too long and complex to be remembered easily. But now the title and URL are snappy, concise and too the point (Not to mention cooler sounding!).

Sorry for the inconvenience. I hope you enjoy the the new site!

Final post of the day

February 27, 2007

Well, I think I’m gonna finish things up right here. It’s been an exciting first day for the blog, and I’ve learned a few things about WordPress’ setup.

After I posted the Cooking Mama: Cook Off! screens, I went to the settings for the blog and modified the time zone so it matched up with my local time (-5 hours from default). The only problem is, this caused all posts made after the Cooking Mama: Cook Off! screens show up as posted almost 5 hours ago! Thusly, you may want to click back to the previous page to read about IGN’s review of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for the Virtual Console. Or you could just click this link, that’d work, too. Either way, make sure you read the story, ok?

So then, this is PsychoDuck, signing off for the day (And by “the day”, I mean the 26th, but you already know about the timezone fiasco!).

Could Wii have Dead or Alive come bouncing our way?

February 27, 2007

Sorry about the puns in the title, I couldn’t help it.

Anyways, in a recent interview, Dead or Alive creator Tomonobu Itagaki talked about one or more of his franchises possibly coming to the Wii. He said that he was intrigued by the controls in Wii Sports: Boxing, and it made of him think of other Wii fighting games. Play a bit of 7 Degrees of DOA and you come to the conclusion that Dead or Alive Wii is a distinct possibility. But then again, it’s completely possible that he was talking about Ninja Gaiden or another one of his works.

My Sims screens

My Sims screenMy Sims screen 2

I’m assuming these are from the Wii version, due to the crisp textures and the vibrant lighting. Plus, there’s only one screen!

Brothers in Arms DS screens

Brothers in Arms DS Screen

This screen was originally from a digital camera’s picture of a page from the most recent Nintendo Power (What a mouthful!), so the texture isn’t great and there may be some innacuracies resulting from the reformatting. But still, it’s the best we’re gonna be seeing for now!

Luminous Arc import review

February 26, 2007

“When I first heard about Luminous Arc, I was immediately interested in learning more about the game prior to its release mostly because it was an SRPG; and as some who own a DS and are into RPGs may know, the DS is pretty thin when it comes to SRPGs. Advance Wars was the last SRPG to grace the Nintendo DS while the rest of the DS RPGs were pretty much action RPGs. My interest in Luminous Arc reached an all new height when I learned that Yasunori Mitsuda, the brilliant and talented video game music composer who blew many RPG fans away with his score to Chrono Trigger, was behind the game’s soundtrack. To my surprise, after having an extensive amount of time with the game itself, I’m glad to say the wait and interest I had in this game was well worth the warm and awesome reception it returned to me in the end.”

New My Sims trailer

February 26, 2007

GameTrailers has a new trailer posted for My Sims (I posted a press release earlier today). The only downside is the trailer’s French, but that doesn’t really matter considering Sims only speak Simlish!

Microsoft’s Peter Moore praises Nintendo

February 26, 2007

“‘From a first-party point of view, it’s not just about E-rated games, it’s going to be about the experience that, quite frankly, Nintendo has done a tremendous job in capturing, in bringing back fun – if you will – to the gaming platforms’, said Moore in an interview with Game Informer.”

He goes on to describe a new casual gamer strategy that could possibly threaten the Wii.
